Following the legislative decree n. 169, 4th August 2016, the Port Network Authority of the North Tyrrhenian Sea has been established, including the ports of Livorno, Piombino, Portoferraio, Rio Marina, Cavo and Capraia.

Livorno is the natural gateway to Tuscany, only 70 minutes far from Florence and 20 from Pisa by car/bus. Porto di Livorno 2000 S.r.l. is the company managing the passenger ships (cruises & ferries). Livorno Medici port hosts the luxury cruises up to 250 m long and Alto Fondale terminal the mega ships without length limitation, thanks to the access channel recent dredging.

The port of Piombino can host big cruise ships, offering the possibility to discover the natural beauties of southern Tuscany. 

Portoferraio is the capital of Elba, the largest island in the Tuscan archipelago. The Deepwater quay, where cruise ships call, is close to the historic centre of the Medicean town, with its Fortresses.
