Description

Over the past few years, there have many high-profile catastrophes causing billions of dollars to the insurance industry.  Among them were the Texas freeze, Germany floods, Hurricane Ida, and several high-profile U.S. Severe weather outbreaks.  Come join a vibrant session that will provide perspective on billion-dollar disasters and insight into the aggregated losses and how perils are trending over time.

Questions that will be answered:

  *   How do we perceive risk and what are the factors driving loss outside of the physical impacts?
  *   Have recent events been unexpected?
  *   Are aggregated losses above or below the long-term average?
  *   What level of loss should the industry expect annually from catastrophes?
  *   How are the losses trending with the perils that are causing the losses?
  *   Is there a connection between the peril trends and the losses?
