Bridging the Gap - A Panel Discussion

During this interactive session, panelists will highlight initiatives, at both carrier and solutions companies, aimed at getting women into top leadership positions. Additionally, women currently in leadership roles will speak to values-based leadership approaches they are seeing or employing themselves, to help other women achieve. The panelists for this session with engage in frank and honest discussions that touch on relevant topics including flexibility, resilience, burnout, fear, imposter syndrome, and more. The conversation will encompass numerous viewpoints, including the most recent survey data from McKinsey’s Women in the Workplace 2021, highlighting that while women’s representation has increased across the pipeline (entry-level to C-Suite) since 2016, women—especially women of color—remain significantly underrepresented in leadership.
1. Learning Objective 1:
Define the workforce issues facing women in the workforce and how they relate to the insurance industry.
2. Learning Objective 2:
Identify and discuss professional challenges that impact women in the insurance workforce, such as burnout and imposter syndrome and provide practical solutions for how to address them.
3. Learning Objective 3:
Identify and strategies for women leaders to support other women navigating the “frozen middle” (getting stuck in middle management) and the “glass ceiling.”
