A wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor since 2019, Universal Industrial Gases (UIG) supplies oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and hydrogen - primarily at steelmaking facilities. Our leading means of supply is through cryogenic air separation plants co-located at mills, supplying steelmakers with highly reliable pipeline gases and liquid backup. We boast a significant project log, completing several new grassroots air separation installations domestically in the post-2020 environment. By mid-2026, nearly two-thirds of Nucor's nameplate steelmaking capacity will be serviced by UIG's gases.
