MIDREX Plants produce approximately 80% of the world’s low CO2 DRI. The MIDREX Process offers high flexibility in reductant sources, iron oxide feed, and product discharge options. These plants can operate using natural gas, natural gas with hydrogen addition (MIDREX Flex®), or 100% hydrogen (MIDREX H2™). Regardless of their Fe content, iron oxide pellets and lump ores can be converted into cold DRI (CDRI), hot DRI (HDRI), or hot briquetted iron (HBI).
