Since 1918, The National Slag Association (NSA) has promoted the use of Blast Furnace and Steel Furnace Slag Co-products of Iron and Steel manufacturing respectively.  These versatile products are engineered aggregates with a proven record of environmental sustainability and are utilized in numerous applications that include but are not limited to cement manufacturing, environmental remediation, agricultural applications, and road construction.  Besides the iron and steel industry, the NSA also partners with equipment manufacturers to ensure that operational activities consider all technical, environmental and safety aspects with a common goal of producing high quality slag safely, be good neighbors in the community and maintain slag as a material of choice by its customers.
