    Efficient In-Line control of slab dimensions.

    Precision in measurements are critical for controlling production costs of continuous processes. To address this important consideration LIMAB has developed an advanced non-contact laser system to measure the slab shape.

    Laser distance and profile sensors measure width, edge profile, edge thickness, camber and a Doppler sensor measure the length. This information is used to calculate the slab weight.

    The SlabProfiler 3D™ is a key measurement system with integrated software for real time control of slab data including data log which permits a historic data view of produced slabs.

    TubeProfiler S is a LIMAB solution for tube measurements

    Are you searching for a system for tube straightness measurement to perform quality control at the end of the line? Our system is compatible with up to 40 of our PreciCura laser sensors which are mounted on a base plate around the tube.  This provides the operator with an accurate measurement of the true cross section of the tube. The LIMAB TubeProfiler S system measures the outer diameter, ovality, true shape, length, total, ends and local straightness of tubes. The system can be installed in rolling applications that is both cold and hot. The TubeProfiler S system has proven its reliability among several of the top quality steel tube producers in the world.

    The TubeProfiler software provides:

    Excellent tube straightness measurement 

    In tube straightness measurement there is no other appliance that can perform the task with a more accurate result than laser sensors. If you are looking for a system for laser scanning of tubes you will be pleased to know that the TubeProfiler S is suitable in a broad range of applications. The operating dimensions are Ø 2 – 24”. TuebProfiler S allows you to perform measurement of a variety of tubes – seamless and ERW. As is the case of all our products, TubeProfiler S meets the expectations of API standards. With the TubeProfiler S you will have a compact in-line system that also measures the total straightness of the tube. The system detects fluctuations in straightness to avoid damages on other equipment. It is often installed at the finishing line for the purpose of quality control and with the measurement values the customer can provide these to the end users.

The TubeProfiler 3D integrates a selective number of sensors for an accurate measurement of the true cross section of the produced product with full 360° coverage of the circumference. The TubeProfiler 3D system has proven its reliability among several of the top quality steel tube producers in the world and gives instant feedback to the operator.

    Forget about laser micrometer shadow gauges – the TubeProfiler 3D system offers measurements with high accuracy and extreme repeatability. Regardless of if you produce ERW, UOE or seamless tubes, the necessity for measuring always exists. For more than 40 years, we at LIMAB have developed optical triangulation sensors based on laser technology.

    The operator software is provided with a 2D or 3D presentation of the tube. This makes it very easy to detect problems with damaged rolls and offers a time efficient solution.

    If you want to, the TubeProfiler 3D can be delivered with a sliding table on rails. This is helpful when maintenance is needed – you can remove the system from the line and perform service and maintenance in a safe way.
