KME is a leader in copper technology for the steel and special metals industry. Information on the Advanced Mold Technology (AMT) product line of copper and copper-alloy molds for the continuous casting of steel will be presented at AISTech. KME supplies mold tubes for billets and blooms, beam blank liners for near-net shapes, plate molds for slabs, funnel molds for thin slabs and rolls for strip casting applications. For the specialty metals industry, the AMT product line includes seamless or welded crucibles for VAR/ESR furnaces as well as other applications such as cold hearth melting. KME is a leading manufacturer of copper blast furnace staves and plate coolers used in iron making. For the non-ferrous industry, KME supplies wheels for rod casting and sleeves for strip casting.
