  • ProfileCheck is an optical, non-contact system, based on laser triangulation
    technology, for the measurement of the complete profile, of key dimensions
    and shape of a full range of bars, rails, beams and special profiles.


    ProfileCheck is installed after the finishing stand, and automatically identifies
    the main rolling defects directly on the production line, enabling the client to
    correct, in real time, working parameters.


    Top performance in sampling frequency, camera resolution and real time
    data assures users effectively have continuous, complete and accurate
    measures and effectively use the measuring system to optimize their own
    working processes. Furthermore, the ProfileCheck's typical water
    consumption minimizes its environmental impact making the provided
    output more sustainable.


    The system is compact and rugged, well suited to operate in hard working
    conditions and for applications up to 1150°C. ProfileCheck is equipped with
    mechanical and thermal protections, a double cooling system (water and air),
    self-calibration and self-diagnostics systems are also included.


    No moving parts during the measuring process.


    The system is flexible enough to fit each specific plant layout: easy off-line
    handling for planned maintenance. Integration via TCP/IP with company
    networks enhances and facilitates data sharing.

    SurfaceCheck is based on the analysis and processing of images acquired by a group of cameras at high resolution and high frame rate. Four to eight high speed linear cameras with motorized focusing are installed as a ring around the rolled piece....

  • SurfaceCheck is based on the analysis and processing of images acquired by a group of cameras at high resolution and high frame rate. Four to eight high speed linear cameras with motorized focusing are installed as a ring around the rolled piece. An external light source highlights discontinuities on the product surface showing the edges of the defects: the light position is studied and optimized to fit the type and range of profiles to be inspected, and to enhance the vision of the most typical and relevant defects for each mill. The light emitted by the hot bar is filtered thus enabling the operators to have the real-time visualization with a preview of the piece once cold.


    System configuration and architecture design are based on the specific geometry and size of the pieces to be scanned in order to have no unseen areas on the profiles or on the sides of them to be scanned.


    Surface defects are detected continuously throughout the entire profile and the complete rolled piece.
    Particular attention has to be given to scale, water and other materials or markings on the surfaces that produce clear spots in the images acquired being perceived by the system as false defects. In fact, descaling unit or air-blower could be required in case of significant presence of scale, water or other impurities in order to see the real defects.


    The system is compact and rugged, well suited to operate in hard working conditions and for applications up to 1200°C. SurfaceCheck is equipped with mechanical and thermal protections, a liquid cooling system and self diagnostic systems are also included.

  • The Straightness Measuring System is an optical, non-contact system, based on laser triangulation technology,  designed for the control of horizontal and vertical profile straightness and flatness. The goal of the system is to detect and control the horizontal and vertical straightness of the complete profile of the rail during inspection, in order to determine any possible anomaly of the product.


    Measurements are performed at the normal speed of transit of the product, without physical contact with the bat and without introducing any obstacle or limitation to the normal productive/inspection cycle.


    It is installed in-line and automatically identifies the rail parameters, enabling the client to correct, in real time, the working parameters.
