  • Combining AMETEK Land’s cutting-edge, non-contact SPOT technology with specialised software algorithms, the SPOT GS is a high-precision digital pyrometer that delivers reliable temperature readings for galvanized and galvannealed steel strip.

    The pyrometer provides accurate temperature measurement needed for close monitoring of the coating process, enabling automated furnace management that in turn delivers tighter control of product quality. Continuous on-line temperature measurement with the Spot GS allows process line control systems to quickly and efficiently accommodate changes in strip dimensions or coating weight during changeover between different customer orders.

    Building on AMETEK Land’s extensive application expertise in the steel industry, the SPOT GS is designed specifically for temperature measurement in continuous galvanizing lines to help ensure production of high quality products demanded by world leading customers in the automotive industry.

    The GS algorithm is dedicated to galvanized or galvannealed surfaces. The GS+ algorithm extends functionality to include the molten zinc surface seen on exit from the zinc pot.

    The automated management provided by the SPOT GS enables furnace optimisation, which reduces heating costs, maximises throughput, and avoids excessive over-reaction. It also helps prevent coating defects and reducing problems during subsequent forming operations.

    Combining a range of digital and analog outputs, the SPOT GS fully integrates with furnace controls, PLCs and control software, providing the measurements needed to optimise furnace performance. This enables reliable and repeatable operation, producing high-quality products with minimal defects.

    With AMETEK Land’s SPOTViewer software, the operator can quickly connect, log and view data from a SPOT GS pyrometer. Viewing and analysis is fully configurable using the flexible user interface.

    Offering industry-leading scanning performance of 1000 data points even at scan speeds as high as 150 scans per second, LSP-HD sets a new benchmark for process imaging definition, detecting even the smallest temperature differences for improved process control and consistent product quality.

    Integration is simple: a single Ethernet data connection straight from the sensor head removes the requirement for a separate processor, while the adoption of Power over Ethernet technology (PoE) means all electrical connections are made using just one Ethernet cable. As the scanner requires just one cable installation costs are significantly reduced.

    Backwards compatible with pre-existing AMETEK Land Infrared Linescanner installations, LSP-HD is available in a number of models, each optimised for a specific range of industrial applications in the glass, industrial processing and steel industries.

    Designed to operate in harsh operating environments ranging from 20 C (68 °F) to 1500 °C (2732 °F) in temperature, LSP-HD’s high-quality optics produce high-definition thermal images at unrivalled scan speeds for outstanding process control. High temperature models feature industry leading fully focusable optics with 300 or 500:1 distance to spot size. All LSP-HD scanners feature rugged Sapphire protection windows that resist scratches, acids and solvents. Integrated laser alignment verification is standard.

    Plug and Play installation utilises a single cable Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection reduces complexity and cost. Ethernet infrastructure uses industry standard cabling and connectivity. Various analogue and digital interfaces are available. 

    Landscan LSP-HD can be used together with the advanced WCA display and analysis software or used independently communication digitally to other systems. Many of the signal processing capabilities are integrated directly within the scanner meaning that a separate PC is not required. Landscan LSP-HD can communicate directly with Siemens S7 PLC's and ibaPDA. Cooled and purged mountings with tool-free quick release mechanisms simplify and speed up scanner removal and re-installation without requiring a plumber to disconnect any fittings.

    Plug and Play compatible with LANDSCAN WCA software, LSP-HD fits all existing LANDSCAN infrared linescanner installations, making it easy to upgrade and replace. An identical form factor to its predecessor means there’s no need to change existing mounting hardware.

    With four, trigger-controlled data-logging modes available, Cyclops L stores up to 9,999 readings internally. Later the recorded data can transferred via Bluetooth or USB to a PC running free Cyclops Logger software to view, analyse the temperature readings.

    Cyclops L function for extended periods, with on-board data storage allowing up to 9,999 measurement points to be recorded inside the thermometer. A rugged instrument jacket protects Cyclops L against harsh conditions.

    Cyclops L range is easy to use – High quality, Through the Lens (TTL) sighting means that you simply look through the eyepiece and focus the lens on the desired target. A small graticule within the view exactly defines the area that's being measured. Then simply pull the trigger. Switch between four modes for data-logging. Temperature readings are displayed within the eyepiece and simultaneously on a second display panel on the instrument's side. This allows a colleague standing next to you to also view the readings. Wireless Bluetooth data transmission further enhances the Cyclops operation.

    Ideal for regular monitoring of sites with multiple measurement locations and verifying readings of permanently installed pyrometers,. Free to download Cyclops Logger software provides configurable measurement routes for your process, uploadable to your thermometer.   • esigned for industrial environments, the fixed-focus HotSpotIR high-speed scanning system detects small hot inclusions on a moving conveyor before they can cause a fire. Reliable alarm processing is achieved without software or computer requirements. 
    HotSpotIR rapidly identifies small, hot particles on a moving conveyor, preventing damage and costly shutdowns. Its high resolution and fast scan speed allow it to detect hot particles as small as 25 mm (1 inch) across. 
    Connecting to a dedicated processor, the scanner can measure up to an entire belt surface. If any part of the surface is above a user-set limit, it activates an alarm which can be set to trigger fire suppression systems.  
    HotSpotIR is suitable for ensuring the safe transport and storage of materials in the hydrocarbon processing, industrial processing, power generation, steel and cement industries, with an optional version available for use in hazardous environments.  

    With high-resolution monitoring across 1000 temperature spots, user-adjustable scanning speed up to 100 Hz, and a repeatability of ±0.5 °C (0.9 °F), HotSpotIR protects the entire conveyor belt against hot spots as small as 25 mm (1 inch) across. 
    Continuous, accurate and fast monitoring means hot spots are detected and an alarm triggered in a hundredth of a second, allowing the plant operator to respond quickly to a potentially-dangerous condition. That means safer employees, reduced damage and downtime risks, and lower insurance costs. 

    HotSpotIR is small enough to be positioned under a belt just after material transfer, allowing it to monitor the entire belt surface. It can also be placed above the conveyor to find hot spots in the material before loading.
