Global Technology Systems sells advanced microwave and electromagnetic solids flowmeters.  We can measure any powder, granulates, chips or pellets from grams/minute up to 500 tph. 

We have a unique dense-phase flowmeter to measure pulverized coal going into the distributor and then for the individual lance flows going into the blast furnace.  These flowmeters will provide huge savings and major improvements in quality by monitoring the fuel-to-air ratio and ensuring a balance condition.  Also, we'll provide feedback on flow conditions to help maintain smooth flow profiles.

We also have microwave moisture meters, non-contact point level switches, flow/no flow sensors, non-contact level measurement,  broken-bag detectors, dust-in-air alarms, and dust emissions monitoring.

    Through the special input coupling of a high-frequency, electromagnetic alternating field, a homogenous measuring field is generated in the measuring pipe. Solids within this measuring field reduce the amplitude of this alternating field. This leads to a measuring signal corresponding to the concentration of the solids being conveyed in the measuring tube (kg/m3).

    Using the same kind of sensor, the change of the alternating field is measured within the measuring tube at two additional points. These two sensors have a defined distance to each other.

    The analysis electronics with its integrated correlator determines the runtime of the conveyor belt between the both sensors from the two sensor signals. The known distance is then used to determine the speed of the solid (m/sec).
    The two measured parameters concentration (K) and speed (v) as well as the known profile (A) of the measuring tube, the flow is determined as

    Q = K x v x A
    and output as a 4 … 20 mA signal.

    SolidFlow 2.0 is a sensor especially developed for measuring the flow rate of solids conveyed in metallic ducts.

    It has successfully been tested for online-measuring of:

    • all types of dust, powder and granulates
    • grain size between 1 nm and 1 cm
    • pneumatically conveyed materials or
    • in free fall after mechanical conveying systems
    • SolidFlow is wear-resistant and the commissioning is very easy.

    The SolidFlow 2.0-sensor uses the latest microwave technology.
    The sensor is used exclusively in metal piping.

    The measuring field is generated through the special coupling of the microwave together with the metal pipe.
    The microwave coupled into the pipe is reflected by the solid particles and received by the sensor.

    The received signals are evaluated with regard to their frequency and amplitude.

    The sensor virtually works like a particle counter that counts streaming particles per time unit.

    The frequency-selective analysis ensures that only streaming particles are measured.
    The SolidFlow 2.0 has a active roping compensation. Based on latest microprocessor-technology, the measuring signal is being dismantled in its frequency spectrum, which enables the sensor to compensate influences of roping.
    The calibration of the sensor takes place in the installed state, simply by pushing a button and entering the reference quantity.

    The ProSens was specially developed to carry out reliable dust measurement on clean sides after filters.

    ProSens was specially developed to carry out reliable dust measurement on clean sides after filters.
    The measuring device provides measurement values for dust concentration, either as a trend signal or as absolute values (after calibration) for emission measurement.

    ProSens is used:

    • if the dust concentration is to be output as an absolute value in mg/m3.
    • for exact measurements even with large channel diameters.
    • for applications in explosion hazard zones
      (GasEx-Zone 1, DustEx-Zone 20)
    • for the measurement of dust concentration even at high temperatures.

    Basic principle of the ProSens is the triboelectric effect.
    If the dust to be measured is constant, then the generated measuring signal is proportional to the dust concentration, even if there are dust deposits on the measuring probe. Experience shows that the measuring method provides very exact results with little required maintenance.

    A complete measuring system consists of these components:

    • Welded casing to serve as a sensor receptacle
    • ProSens-sensor
    • Transmitter PME 100

    This unit can be supplied in a field housing with touch panel display or as a DIN rail version.
    In case of a DIN rail version also a software for parameter setting will be supplied.
