STAVANGER

The shortcut to the Norwegian fjords

Stavanger, Norway’s second busiest cruise port is conveniently located in the south-western corner of Norway. The Stavanger region is indeed the shortcut to the Norwegian fjords. Nothing is far away, and cruise ships dock in the very city centre, near the oldest part of the town. Just a short walk away is the lovely cathedral, and the charming city centre with its cobbled pedestrian streets.

The landscape in the region varies between fjords and steep mountains. The Lysefjord and the Pulpit Rock – just an hour’s boat trip away from the city. The Stavanger region claims to be the cradle of the Vikings. Having been European Capital of Culture in 2008 has added extra cultural dimensions to “The Petroleum Capital of Norway”.

In 2020 Stavanger expects 250 cruise calls with over 500.000 passengers. There will be calls every single month.

Stavanger, - so close to the European continent and Great Britain!
