  • Quantum Marine Stabilizers is thrilled to announce a new 73m (238′) Cruise Ship project, National Geographic Venture, being built by Nichols Brothers Boat Builders out of Freeland, Washington. Quantum will supply a pair of MAGLiftTM ML460 Rotors for stabilization, which will optimize the low speed performance of this vessel, while being fully retractable, when not in use. National Geographic Venture is being built for @Lindblad Expeditions and will accommodate 100 passengers exploring Alaska and the Pacific Northwest and Baja California and the Sea of Cortez.

    Quantum’s patented XT™ Fin is the most popular system to date....
     

  • Quantum’s patented XT™ Fin is the most popular system to date. The main stabilizer fin houses another fin or “foil,” designed to extend or retract based on the speed of the vessel. To maximize the performance at zero speed, the foil is extended, providing 30% more surface area, while generating 100% more lift force. To maximize the performance underway, the foil is retracted, reducing the surface area and the corresponding drag.  Standard fins are frequently converted to XT™ Fins. 

  • MAGLift™ Rotor
    The MAGLift™ technology is based on the "Magnus Effect," where a rotating cylinder creates lift or stability. Perfect for zero and slower speed applications and retractable for high speed....
     

  • Based upon the “Magnus Effect,” a phenomenon where a rotating cylinder creates lift (stabilization) proportional to the speed and direction of the rotation. It is perfect for slow/loitering and zero speed applications.  The patented, MAGLift™ Rotors are also completely retractable underway, making it ideal for ice class or high-speed vessels to where drag is a consideration.
