Oregon Fruit Extends Compote Line with Strawberry, Blueberry and Tropical
Compotes Save Back-of-the-House Prep Time and Money While Preserving Flavor and Shelf Life
Catersource 2019 (CS2019), February 24 – 27, 2019, New Orleans, LA – Oregon Fruit Products is announcing three new flavors for its Fruit In Hand compote line for the foodservice market: strawberry, blueberry and tropical. Oregon Fruit compotes are thick and delicious fruit toppings with large pieces of fruit, ideal for layering or topping a variety of breakfast and dessert dishes, or elevating savory proteins. Oregon Fruit will be sampling the new compote flavors at Catersource Booth #721.
Oregon Fruit strawberry, blueberry and tropical compotes elevate cheesecake, pancakes, yogurt, parfaits, waffles, crepes, and French toast. Joining already available peach and mixed berry compotes, the new varieties offer even more easy to use, sweet fruit flavor options.
“Unlike ready-made compotes and pie fillings made from low-quality fruit and additives, Fruit In Hand Compotes are made with the best available ripe fruit and taste as if they were prepared moments ago,” says Mary Duffy-Kelly, director of foodservice and ingredients at Oregon Fruit Products. “From fast casual to fine dining, the compotes delight customers, while allowing operators to minimize labor costs and maximize valuable prep time.”
Fruit in Hand Compotes are made by hand-selecting fresh fruit picked at the peak of ripeness. They are processed to maintain the vivid flavor and color of the fruit and lightly sweetened with cane sugar to enhance the fruits’ natural sugars. The compotes contain no artificial flavors or colors, and no high fructose corn syrup. They are certified Kosher, vegetarian, gluten-free and non-GMO. Using Fruit in Hand Compotes couldn’t be easier: each ships frozen in one-gallon pails and has a 10-day shelf life under refrigeration after thawing.
