Check out MITRE's Human-Machine Social Systems Lab!
The MITRE Corporation is a not-for-profit organization that operates research and development centers sponsored by the federal government. Our centers support our sponsors with scientific research and analysis, development and acquisition, systems engineering and integration, and enterprise transformation. We also have an independent research program that explores new and expanded uses of technologies to meet our sponsors’ needs.
At RoboBusiness 2017, meet the team from MITRE's Human-Machine Social Systems (HMSS) Lab.
As autonomous systems begin to take on more tasks, organizations—from the military to healthcare—want to ensure the success of human-machine teams working on complex missions. The HMSS Lab focuses on helping developers and users understand the social dynamics of their technologies so that the humans perceive their autonomous systems as helpful teammates rather than just tools.
Our goal is to improve how machines can best complement their human teammates cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
Our principal locations are in Bedford, Mass., and McLean, Va. To learn more about MITRE, visit www.mitre.org.
