Composed of 26 regional councils and geographically aligned with today’s construction market, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC) was first established on August 12, 1881. The UBC is one of the largest building trades unions, with over a half-million members throughout North America.
The Northern California Carpenters Regional Council and its affiliate local unions, representing over 38,000 members, and our partner employers, work throughout the 46 Northern California Counties. The Carpenters Union is a progressive and solution based organization.  By partnering with our employers in shops, yards and factories we produce and deliver the highest quality products and delivery systems in our industry.   Our employers understand it makes good “business sense” to prioritize their greatest asset, skilled Union employees, and provide jobs with Union wages and benefits!  Part of this collaboration has also led to professional training programs administered by labor/management committees.
