Western Regional Sales Manager

A&K Railroad Materials is a leading supplier of new and used track materials. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, A&K has sales offices and a network of storage and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. We are seeking a self-motivated results oriented person who best meets the following criteria.

Job Description

The Western Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for sales in railroad track materials in western United States and portions of Canada while leading the regional sales office.  Successful candidate will be located within our corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT.  This person will work closely with product managers and will be reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Salt Lake City sales team

• Manage new and existing customer accounts regarding material and service needs

• Respond to customer needs in an expedient manner and prepare competitive quotations using sound market knowledge

• Grow the territory and maintain strong partnerships with customer base, and negotiate proposals as required to achieve desired results

• Manage and report sales results

• Monitor and communicate competitive information

• Work effectively with internal personnel

Requirements

•  Undergraduate degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or commensurate experience
• 2-3 years of experience in management
• 3-5 years of experience in sales, operations, supply chain, or engineering
• Railroad product and industry knowledge preferred
• Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Self-motivated , results oriented
• Strong presentation and written communication skills
• Comfort working independently
• Must be proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Willing and able to travel up to 60% each month
