City of Oklahoma City - Wastewater Quality
The City of Oklahoma City, Utilities Department, has a program to address the amount of Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) that is discharged to our sanitary sewer system. FOG will clog the sewer lines leading to back-ups into homes, businesses, and restaurants. We try to educate our restaurants, as well as our private residents, the problem with pouring used grease directly into our drains. During the past years of having a booth at this event, we've had a lot of people that stop and talk to our personnel about this issue. We've had a lot of positive feedback from people, not just with restaurants, but with their private homes addressing the grease issue.
