In addition, we have INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH in an unusually productive atmosphere of collaboration across multiple disciplines in the STEM sciences and biomedical sciences, in which graduate students participate in the research. This interdisciplinary environment is supported by the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Medicine, which share a single campus. We offer new graduate students three ROTATIONS in labs of their choosing. Our INSTRUMENTATION stands out among pier institutions for its wealth of advanced technology; and, the expectation is that graduate students will become expert users, including FT-IR and Ion-Mobility mass spectrometers, NMR (e.g., 300MHz to 900MHz, TEM (transmission electron microscopes; high throughput screening and libraries of samples, DIFRACTOMETERS, LASERS, to name a few.
Our program mirrors the working world - teamwork, experiment design and implementation, documentation, presentation of results, and publication.
