Laffort USA is a subsidiary of Laffort SA, which is a family-owned company started in the Bordeaux region of France in 1895. The company has a line of products spanning the range of winemaking, from handling of grapes when they arrive at the winery to putting the wine in the bottle. The products include Zymaflore and Actiflore yeasts, yeast derived products, enzymes, ML bacteria, nutrients, tannins, fining, stabilization and a new Nobile range that includes oak alternatives such as chips, staves and Barrel Refresh. Over the decades, from Pasteur works through the latest biotechnology techniques, Laffort has innovated and patented many products or applications: SO2 effervescent tablets (Oenosteryl), Instant Dissolution Tannins (VR Supra), and most recently Mannoproteins to stabilize tartrate in wine (MannOstab).
