As certified by Guinness World Records in December 2017, we have the largest ship registry in the world.
The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) is the highest authority overseeing the shipping interest of Panama, including the Panamanian Ship Registry and it's users and is headquartered in Panama City.
The Technical Safety Department (Segumar) is open 24/7 and has several offices around the globe, including one in Miami to cater to the cruise industry, and is supported by a network of over 60 Consulates worldwide.
The Regional Seafarers’ Offices globally supervise among other responsibilities the certification of over 600,000 seafarers.
In 2017, the Panama Ship Registry celebrated its first century promoting global trade.
