About Hydroniq Coolers

Sperre Coolers is changing name to Hydroniq Coolers. The change represents our desire to cultivate the development of the market's most solid and maintenance-friendly marine cooling solutions.

Sperre Coolers AS was established in 2012 and it is owned by the holding company; Sperre Mek. Verksted AS. In the past the company were a part of the Sperre group of companies, among other Sperre Industri which over decades has been well known for its starting air compressors. The company Sperre has been producing heat exchangers for marine and land based industry since early 1970’s.

The product portfolio for Sperre Coolers today consists of the Sperre Rack cooler and Sperre Pleat cooler, as well as the long existing shell and tube heat exchangers. Manufacturing of all the products takes place at the existing premises at Ellingsøy in the municipality of Ålesund, Norway.

The company’s main focus is on the marine sector, in addition to power plants and barges. With modern maintenance friendly and low energy consuming products, linked to a strong sales & service organisation with agents world wide, it is expected a strong growth of the company.

    Our Rack cooler is a module based cooling system with forced seawater flow, which is integrated into the vessels existing hull structure....

    • The Rack cooler is normally placed in the double bottom, and therefore requires minimal space in the engine room.  In theory the Rack cooler can actually be placed almost anywhere in the ship. This just shows how versatile the system really is.

    Initially the Rack cooler was mainly intended for the offshore fleet, but because of the simplicity, easy maintenance and space efficiency, other segments, like cruise vessels, fishing vessels, and Live fish Carriers has started to use our Rack system.
