USDA provides nutritious, high-quality, domestically grown and produced foods, known as USDA Foods, to Child Nutrition Programs across the country. USDA offers an assortment of options, including fruits, vegetables, dairy products including yogurt and cheese, enriched and whole grain products, lean meat, poultry, and seafood and a variety of other protein options including eggs, nuts and seeds, and beans. Schools can choose from minimally processed, direct delivered USDA Foods or divert USDA Foods to national or state approved processors for additional flexibility. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also available through USDA's partnership with the Department of Defense, the USDA DoD Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. All USDA Foods are 100% American grown.
