The Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium is an industry-led consortium launched by the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation at Purdue University Northwest. The consortium supports the development and implementation of simulation and visualization technologies to address technological issues and related barriers that inhibit the growth of advanced manufacturing in the steel industry, with a focus on research projects in the areas of workplace safety, ironmaking, the electric arc furnace, the reheating furnace, the refining ladle, and continuous casting.
