dormakaba’s Exit Lane Breach Control Corridor, installed in an airport terminal, offers controlled access and secured single direction pedestrian flow from the air to land side area. The technology is designed to provide an alternative to security guards, while improving the monitoring, alerting, notification and isolation process for faster response to potential intruders. The modular system consists of a combination of several fast-moving half- and full-height door sets. The required security level may be achieved by different unit lengths and sensor combinations. The sophisticated sensor system ensures a high object security with simultaneous regard to pedestrian safety.

Our Self-Boarding Gate consists of a sensor barrier with automatic swing panels. The unit features an integrated boarding pass reader, an LCD display for passenger instruction and a device for printing seat assignment changes. Industry standard barcodes can be scanned from boarding passes printed by airlines or self-service kiosks, personal printers and smart phones.

  • The dormakaba Exit Lane Breach Control Corridor (ELBC) can be installed in an airport terminal to control passenger flow from the air to land side area. The technology is designed to provide an alternative to security guards, while improving the monitoring, alerting, notification and isolation process for faster response to potential intruders. In addition, the ELBC monitors for the presence of passed or left behind objects.
    When used in the free flow mode the ELBC is capable of processing an equivalent number of passengers similar to a barrier free exit lane monitored by a human guard. Any disruption in passenger flow is the result of the detection of a potential intruder entering from the unauthorized, land side. In the interlock mode, the air side barrier is never open until the land side doors are closed and locked. In this mode, the maximum security preventing unauthorized entry, passed or thrown objects is achieved while maintaining an acceptable level of throughput.

    In addition to increasing operational efficiencies and passenger service, the sensor barrier technology seamlessly interfaces with airline and airport systems to accurately collect data and ensure immediate user acceptance for improved throughput rates. Passenger luggage is automatically detected. Safety sensors prevent users from being pinched or injured.
