Graduate Study in the Biological Sciences Division, University of Missouri
Our research programs are focused in three highly interrelated areas at the forefront of modern biology: Genetic, Cellular and Developmental Biology; Neurobiology and the Regulation of Behavior; Evolutionary Biology and Ecology.
One of our great strengths is a level of interdisciplinary cooperation in research and education found at very few other institutions. Many of our graduate students are engaged in collaborative projects with students and faculty in interdisciplinary degree programs: Interdisciplinary Plant Group, Interdisciplinary Neurosciences Program, Genetics Area Program, and Conservation Biology Program as well as multiple colleges and schools.
We seek students from underserved (economically disadvantaged and first-generation college) and underrepresented groups to further our comprehensive effort to increase the diversity and the quality of this nation's scholar talent pool in the biological sciences.
