The National Institutes of Health, Office of Intramural Training & Education provides training opportunities in more than 1150 intramural research groups focusing on biomedical research.  Laboratories are located on the main campus in Bethesda, MD as well as in Baltimore and Frederick, MD; Research Triangle Park, NC; Phoenix, AZ; Hamilton, MT; Framingham, MA; and Detroit, MI.  Programs include summer internships for high-school, undergraduate, medical/dental, and graduate students; a scholarship program for outstanding undergraduates from economically disadvantaged backgrounds; year-long research experiences for college graduates, including the opportunity to explore health disparities; graduate programs offered in conjunction with universities worldwide, and postdoctoral research opportunities that allow behavioral and social scientsts, biologists, chemists, physicists, engineers, mathematical modelers, epidemiologists, statisticians, and computation biologists to collaborate to improve human health.
