A private university comprising a College of Osteopathic Medicine founded in 1916 and a College of Biosciences, Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience is the largest medical school in Missouri and one of the oldest osteopathic medical schools in the country. We are known as a leader in osteopathic medical education, with an environment that emphasizes both academic excellence and the education of caring physicians, who place their patients' needs above all else. Starting in the fall of 2017, we have a new medical school location in Joplin, MO which is about 3 hours south of Kansas City in Southwest Missouri. Our diverse graduate-level programs prepare future physicians, researchers, bioethicists and other health-care professionals.
