The role of implicit bias will be discussed and how these aggressions can not only be avoided through better self-awareness, but also how to address witnessed micro-aggressions by others. The webinar will also highlight the impact these concepts have on all participants in the healthcare setting– staff, students, medical providers, and patients.
Rethinking Cosmetic Clinical Trials Focusing on Skin of Color
Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 pm CT

This webinar features experienced skin of color dermatologists who are active in clinical trials research for the development of injectables, medications, devices, laser and light-based modalities. The issue of race in medicine influences and informs all clinical research trials. Historically, this resulted in the underrepresentation of patients with skin of color with regard to cosmetic injectables and devices. Such underrepresentation has significant implications for clinical practice. This discussion will explore opportunities for industry to embrace diversity in their clinical trials as a way to become more inclusive and increase their own profitability.
