The Michigan State University Bioeconomy Institute (MSU BI) offers custom-tailored solutions to advance or scale-up chemical and biobased technologies to commercialization. Our unique organization combines two geographically separate facilities: a Fermentation Center equipped with fermenters from 1.5 liters up to 3,800 liters (Lansing, Michigan), and a Specialty Chemical Center with a total standard capacity of over 30,000 liters (Holland, Michigan) . Our two facilities complement and extend the capabilities of Michigan State University campus research, and can serve as an invaluable resource for the duration of your project.
The Specialty Chemical Scale-up Facility provides:
• 200 - 4000 liter chemical reactors with centralized automatic controls, centrifuges, filters, and dryers
• Engineering and Operating Staff with extensive specialty chemicals manufacturing and optimization experience
